SEIU, HealthPartners Contract Has First Fund In Midwest for Training Health Care Workers

Members of SEIU Healthcare Minnesota Feb. 12 ratified a new three-year contract with HealthPartners in Minneapolis-St. Paul that establishes the first health care worker training fund in the Midwest, the union announced Feb. 13.

NYSNA Members Sue Over Board's Action to Disaffiliate from United American Nurses

Upset with the decision of the New York State Nurses Association's board of directors to disaffiliate from its parent union, the United American Nurses, three current or former members of the board have sued the organization claiming their colleagues violated NYSNA's bylaws and policies through the board's action.

Kentucky, West Virginia Nurses Unions OK Pact With Appalachian Regional Healthcare

CINCINNATI--Although the 83-day strike by Appalachian Regional Healthcare nurses has ended with ratification of a new contract, some return-to-work issues are still being resolved, union negotiator Pat Tanner said Jan. 2.
